Summery : This tape was actually not one of our case studies. It was sent by an agent of the Tennesee police department.  Officer Wyland was still in training . He was on a ride along with officer Dugan. The events on this tape happened during a routine arrest for drunk driving.  The tape was confiscated from a police dash mounted camera after an evening of unexplained events. A cctv tape was also confiscated from a local convenience store where the squad car was found. The details of what really happened are still under speculation.

Location :  Benton County, Tennessee

Location history : In  Benton county, Tennessee, there is an area known as Hell's Woods. There have been legends surfacing for decades, possibly even longer of a demon known to reside in the woods off of Church rd.  The desription and stories vary, but there is one common factor in them all, the demon's existance in the woods.

[Officers Dugan and Wyland are turning onto Church Rd when a female voice is  heard over the police scanner. ]

"Dugan, we got a call from a local crazy claiming to have seen the demon again. You're in the area, can you respond?"

[Dugan and Wyland pull up behind a beat up pick up truck that is swerving.]

"Dugan here,negative. Looks like we got a drunk coming home from Lucky's Tavern"

"Copy that."

[Dugan turns on the lights and sirens and after a moment the truck pulls over.]

"Ok Wyland, you should know what to do here. I'll come with you, but you're taking this one. Gotta pop that cherry sometime. You're gonna run into this pretty often in the area. Seems like there's nothing much to do out here but get drunk. We need to keep these assholes off the road."

"Copy"

[Dugan and Wyland exit the car. Dugan is a stocky man, dark hair and thick dark mustache. Wyland is younger, smaller, clean shaven man. Wyland appears nervous. Dugan stands behind the truck while Wyland approaches the driver's window.]

Wyland - "Liscense and registration please."

The man replies in a slur "yes sir"

Wyland - "How much have you had to drink tonight Mr. Hines."

Hines - "I ain't gonna lie officer, I had a beer."

Wyland - "A beer? You were all over the road. I'm gonna need you to step out of the vehicle."

[Hines gets out of the truck and stumbles, falling to the ground. Wyland grabs his arm, lifts him up and walks him to the car. Hines is an average build man, wearing a camouflage hat and jeans with a large belt buckle on it.

Wyland - "You can barely stand and you're gonna drive around like this. You're a real piece of shit, man. Lean on the car and put your hands behind your back."

[A rustle is heard in the distance. Dugan and Hines are both seen looking into the woods.]

Hines - "What was that?"

Wyland - "Nice try. I said hands behind your back."

Dugan - "I heard it too, Wyland"

[Wyland turns to Dugan]

Wyland - "What the hell are you talking about? I didn't hear anything."

[Wyland turns back to Hines, who is now leaning over the hood with his hands behind his back. Wyland cuffs hines, when something jumps out of the woods and pounces on Dugan, taking him to the ground. It appears to be a small creature, about half of Dugan's height. It is thin, frail, and black, with batlike wings, claws on it's boney hands, and hooves for feet. The creature is on top of Dugan, ripping at him with it's claws. Wyland and Hines both jump back, staring in awe.]

Dugan- " Wyland! Get this thing off of me! Help"

Hines - "What the fuck is that?!"

[Wyland shoots at the creature. He hits it twice, seeming to have no effect on it. Dugans screams slowly subsides as he lay there dying. The creature rises and turns toward Wyland and Hines. ]

Hines - " Oh shit"

[The creature pounces at them. Wyland ducks, shooting at the creature. The creature lands on Hines and takes him to the ground. Hines lay there screaming while the creature attacks him. With his hands cuffed behind him, the creature kills him pretty fast, and then turns to Wyland. Wyland quickly runs around the car, gets in the car, closes the door, and drives away as fast as he can.  Wyland picks up the walkie.]

Wyland - "Come in! Come in! This is Wyland! I have a situation."

Dispatch - "What is it Wyland? "

Wyland - "Dugan is down, so is the man we pulled over. Something.... something came out of the woods and attacked us. I shot at it but it didn't seem to do anything. I need backup!"

Dispatch - "Nice try boys, I guess this is what I get for sending you to check on that crazy"

Wyland - "This isn't a fucking joke!"

[A thud is hear with some clanging on the back of the car. The radio fades to static.]

Wyland - "Hello! Copy! This is Wyland, anybody copy?"

[There is some more clanging heard on the vehicle. The creature then drops onto the hood of the car.  It raises it's wings and lets out a horrible screech. Wyland slams on the brakes and the creature flies forward. It hits the ground and lay there for a moment. ]

Wyland - "Got you! Fucker!"

[Wyland steps on the accelerator, revving the car up. Just as he lets off the brake and starts to head forward, the creature jumps up and flies away. ]

Wyland - "What the?"

[Wyland swerves a bit, but gains control of the car. He speeds off down the road. A few moments later a convenience store is seen up the road. Wyland pulls into the empty parking lot and enters the store. While he is gone, the car door is heard opening and shutting. The footage from this camera ends here]

[This video is from the parking lot cctv feed from the convenience store. The parking lot sits empty for a few moments before Officer Wyland is seen pulling in and parking. The car is scraped up, the lights busted, and the antenna ripped off with wires hanging out. Wyland exits the car and heads into the store.  After Wyland enters the store, the creature is seen entering the car and crawling into the back seat. After a few moments Wyland is seen exiting the store and heading back to the car. He gets in the car and sits. He appears to be gathering himself.  The car shakes slightly and Wyland is seen looking in the rear-view mirror. The creature then appears behind him.  Wyland screams and the creature shrieks. The creature attacks Wyland from behind, killing him. The creature then breaks out of the window and disappears off into the distance.  The footage ends here.]
